Yes, it is true. We are getting married!

If everything goes well, we will have a small ceremony in Skudeneshavn, Norway, August 5th. The place will be Pinsemenigheten Salem, and the pastor there is Viggo Abrahamsen. He himself is married to a brasileira and he is fluent in Portuguese so this was an obvious choice.

The party will be small - if you can ever get that in our family. If the whole Wisnæs family brings their spouses and kids, the party will be quite big…

We will also have a small party in Brazil so our friends and family there get the chance to celebrate with us. As far as we know now, none of them will go to Norway for the event there.

A lot of things need to be in order before the wedding. And since there is a rule in Norway that say that papers can be maximum 3 months old, we have to start getting all papers ready now. There will be a separate blogentry about this. It could be ok to document everything so others can benefit from it.

We are looking forward to this and both are a bit nervous as well. Two families from almost opposite sides of the world. We hope and pray that our families will be able to meet some day, but right now it is not looking too good.

One thing need to be mentioned. It seems like we are surrounded by positive and friendly people! Something like this takes a bit of coordination, but so far everyone we have talked to has been very positive. We are very grateful for this and hope that the trend will continue!

Welcome to the first post in what I hope will be permanent website for us.

I have spent some time trying to adjust the design of this site to something I like. And with the picture slideshow at the top, I think I am satisfied.

Just a few words about the technical part of this website. The system I am using is WordPress. The theme is a modified version of Connections. And the plug-in that makes the slideshow at the top is FlashFader. In addition, I have installed Plogger gallery to handle our pictures.

Right now I am living in Norway, but the plan is to move to Brazil as soon as possible. So everything I do now is with that thought in the back of my head. I am also thinking a lot about how to get the few things I have to Brazil without paying too much for it. And what will I do for a living when I am finally there. It is a big decision to make a move like this and a little bit scary. The only thing I can do is leave it in Gods hands and believe that everything will be ok.

I am really looking forward to move there and to finally have a family! And to have a winter without snow for the first time in my life…

But before that happens, Eni and Tete are going to come to Norway. So this is our first challenge. More about that later.
